ONLY 30 RADISSON ROOMS REMAIN FOR NERGC 2009

NERGC Manchester 2009 has met and exceeded its Radisson hotel reservations block and is asking for more rooms to accommodate the demand. More than 560 room nights have been sold. Only about 30 additional rooms are still available, so register soon at 603-625-1000. Be sure to mention our conference to get the conference rate. The Radisson is the only hotel physically attached to the Exhibit Hall and the conference meeting rooms. It is also the shortest walk to the cemetery where Donna Walcovy will be conducting her preservation workshop.

DONNA HOLT SIEMIATKOSKI AWARD

Deadline for nominations for the 2008 Award: Friday, January 23, 2009

This award, consisting a free registration for one NERGC conference, one banquet, and a recognition certificate read at that banquet, is given to an individual who has provided outstanding volunteer service to the New England Regional Genealogical Consortium, Inc. or its member societies (as defined in the NERGC bylaws), over and above the job to which they were elected or appointed to do. The service might include (but need not necessarily be limited to) outstanding leadership, completing a special project or demonstrating expertise in accomplishing a goal, raising standards of excellence, or influencing for the better the field of genealogy on behalf of a qualifying genealogical society. The nomination may be for service and/or achievements during the previous calendar year or for achievements over a number of years leading up to and including the previous calendar year.

Nominations must be made by someone other than the person being nominated. They may be submitted by one or more:
Delegates from or Presidents of NERGC member societies
Officers or members of the Board of Directors of the New England Regional Genealogical Conference.
Nominations should include:
· The full name of the nominee
· A short vitae on the nominee
· The name of the organization for which outstanding volunteer services were performed
· A descriptive one page essay describing the qualifying services to NERGC or the member society and to the field of genealogy as a whole.

NERGC 2009 Librarians and Teachers Day


The New England Regional Genealogical Consortium, Inc. (NERGC) hosts its tenth genealogical conference — Discovering Family Treasures -- April 22-26, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel Manchester and adjoining Expo Center of New Hampshire, 700 Elm Street, Manchester, New Hampshire. NERGC 2009 will help bring together genealogists and family historians from a variety of backgrounds. Whether you are just beginning the search for your family, are already an advanced researcher, or perhaps even a professional genealogist, the NERGC 2009 conference will provide you with an ideal opportunity to advance your knowledge and research skills.

As part of the conference, NERGC 2009 is pleased to offer a special program for librarians and teachers. The event will be held on Thursday, 23 April 2009, at the Radisson Hotel Manchester. Attendees will hear several excellent speakers who will help to enhance their knowledge of genealogical resources and applications. All librarians and teachers who work with family history patrons or genealogy-related research materials will benefit from this special event. Print out or bookmark the brochure and start planning your conference experience today. Half the fun of planning for the conference is choosing the programs that you’ll attend. Read the biographies of the conference speakers to gain insight into their experience. Ready your questions for the experts - those presenting programs or those available at the Ancestor Road Show. Early preparation will make this a truly enjoyable experience.
